The very first cultural project that Ms. Farkhunda Zahra Naderi initiated from Hakim Nasir Khusrow Balkhi Cultural Center was, “Hujat-e-Khurasan Epic Theater.” This epic theater, which was directed and supervised by Ustad Abdul Qayoum Besid, the father of theater in Afghanistan, was held in Esteqlal High School hall. In fact, this epic theater reflected a part of the rich and stressful life of Hakim Nasir Khusrow Balkhi.
It took the young actors of the theater association of the Hakim Nasir Khusrow Balkhi Cultural Center about six months, to prepare this historical and unique theater. Ustad Besid provided all the theatrical guidance to the actors.
Moreover, the entire design and decorations of the theater was done by Ms. Farkhunda Zahra Naderi. Ms. Naderi made sure that every details of the theater including the stage, clothing, and the set of theater were similar to Hakim Nasir Khusrow Balkhi’s time. She also worked as an assistant director with Ustad Besid.
Hujat-e-Khurasan Epic Theater was a major success for the Hakim Nasir Khusrow Balkhi Cultural Center. It gave a new life to the theater of Afghanistan and was uniquely welcomed by the theater society of Afghanistan.
